Marriage…. I’m sober, my husband is not. It’s odd being the one looking in, seeing a blurry reflection of what I was like (not to long ago) and realizing, truly realizing, how absolutely insane it all is! Still sober though! Gratefully sober!

Good for you, clarity is so helpful and continues to fuel my sobriety among other things. Keep it up and remain clear!

Thanks guys!

Yes we looking at ourselves.and what we see.

Thank you, Aerial, for having the courage to create this post. I have a similar situation. I left for inpatient rehab for heroin, with the understanding that my live-in boyfriend of almost 5 years would be seeking treatment, as well, while I was getting better. Well, I'm almost 90 days clean, and I came back home yesterday.... and guess what? He hasn't done ANYTHING to change. I'm really freaked out, because I stepped right back into this horrible environment, not even aware of it. I'm working with my recovery coach on housing assistance opportunities, and I just got a great new job, but I don't start training until February 14. I apologize if I hijacked your post, but everything just started coming out when I started replying to your post. Thank you for helping me be honest about what's going on with me.

Is your husband interested in getting sober too? My partner and I have been sober together for about 20 days. I know if he wasn't sober, I'd probably be tempted to drink. It's so much easier when we're both on the same page. My bf was ameandrunkat times, and if he started again, I'd probably have to leave. He used to be more easygoing, but eventually drinking constantly messes with your brain. It's not easy at all, but if he continues drinking you may need to leave temporarily, for yourself. Please feel free to reach out to talk if you need to. Wishing you well🙏

Lead by example, hopefully he follows you.

I’ve been there .. it’s an eye opener for sure

Love this! Super proud of you for staying strong! Anytime you need a place to get honest I’m here for you! Hope everything is well!

Bit of an update: My husband is currently in jail and is looking at being gone for 2-3 years. I’m still sober, wonderfully and joyfully sober! Have gained my families trust again, which is huge! Got my mortgage back on track, have been promoted twice in four months and am truly learning to love myself again! God has shown up for me in ways I never thought possible and I am happier now then I ever have been! Keep going strong! You are all absolutely worth it!
