Maybe this isn’t the place to ask, but I would like to become some kind of a help/counselor towards people struggling with addiction. Is there a school I would have to complete? Degree? Etc. I have over 2 years clean and a lifetime of addicts. Thanks, located in the Bay Area, California. Thanks peeps!
Side note: I’m so thankful I was able to greet my daughter today when she came out the door and graduated from the third grade! There has been times when I would not have been able to be there due to addiction!

You can do that tonight. All A.A. and NA groups suggest sponsorship as part of a program of recovery. Since you have two years if you’ve worked the steps you can sponsor someone that has less time than you. Ask about it at your next meeting.
This is a little weird, I actually have not done all the steps but have been sober, I guess I shall work the steps..
