Meeting help

Looking for someone local to be a new friend. I struggle so so much during the holiday season. I have crippling anxiety going new places alone. For the last 3 years i have come so so close to relapse. I need someone to basically hold my hand and drag me to meetings NA/AA/CA in Toronto (more like east york/Scarborough) at least once a week

Have you tried doing online meetings?

I have but they're just not the same, I also don't have the privacy in my house there's absolutely nowhere I can do a meeting online at home without my kids or partner getting in the way. My house is chaos

Also, I really need to meet new people in the same sobriety situation because I feel literally alone.

I hope you find the strength and courage to go  Recovery requires us to do some very uncomfortable new behaviors. There are people at your local meetings waiting for you. You just have to show up. You can do it. We can encourage you. Let us know how it goes

I've tried, I don't know if you know anxiety, and when I say crippling, I mean it. Like I can't breathe and hyperventilate, pass out, vomit. ... it doesn't work for me I need a friend

I see. Would you be okay with calling your local intergroup? If you have the meeting chair app, you can look up meetings near you. They usually have a phone number listed. I’m sure someone can help you connect with another woman who can take you to a meeting. There are many who want to help. Just trying to help…

Would you consider a zoom meeting.

I hear you. Maybe stepping outside for a quick reset or connecting with someone from the community who understands can help. Add friends here. DM anytime. You’re doing your best, and that’s enough right now.
