Ebbs and flows Nikki… in early sobriety we are still trying to figure out how to navigate our own self. And the addiction is a sneaky little b@stard! It will use every trick it can to get what it wants. Great job not picking up! It will get easier.. I promise. Keep doing the next right thing. Keep reaching out. You got this!

Good Life doesn’t stop sucking because you get sober. Just one less problem to deal with while you’re handling it

The fact that you didn't drink is amazing and shows your strength! You've got this!

Keep your chin up. You’re being honest with yourself and that’s important, AND you didn’t drink. This shits hard..definitely not always happy go lucky, but getting through the tough times are worth it! You got it and props for putting yourself out there

Milestones in sobriety are a tricky thing. They can be a mirage of illusion in our minds. On one hand, we're happy we broke a major milestone. On the other hand, we want to celebrate a great achievement! However, especially early on, our customs and traditions for celebrating achievements are to get hammered. It's counter productive to celebrate one month sober by getting ripped at happy Hour so we find ourselves feeling slightly jaded. Almost like we've been tricked in our minds. Because we come all this way and there's seemingly no reward at the end of the trail. But that's not true. The reward is paid in advance. The happiness and joy you experienced without the synthetic lubricant of drinking was the reward. And all you had to do was make it a month. In three months you'll have found a new hobby. In a year you'll maybe have a promising new relationship. Or will have mended broken friendships. In two years maybe your reward will be a huge promotion or new job that you never could've managed while drinking. In five years maybe you'll buy that dream house or dream car that you would've never had fiscal responsibility to save for with alcohol draining your bank. This are the rewards for our milestones in sobriety. And one day, you'll wake up six or seven years sober and forget it was even your "birthday" because you're so focused on living instead of white knuckling your way through the next grind of life. There will be plenty of highs. But make no mistake, there'll also be plenty of lows. We can't appreciate the good times without the bad times and good times can't hang around forever. Don't fear this relevant detail though. Because we still need those tough days. Those tests. Those measures to mark how far we've come. There's just as much to learn in the bad as there is in the good. Always remember to look at it like this and you'll appreciate them both evenly. Hang in there.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know that, that is very deep to read and truly agree with you on this I screenshot to save for memory Ty 🫶🏾

Well I'm glad I could hopefully say something inspiring. Cherish the bad. Because there's always more good coming just around the bend. Best of luck.
