Message to my fellow addicts!

During your recovery, beware of predators! I recently had someone who attempted to bait me into leaving this site completely, AA, and any other interaction. This is extremely dangerous and because we are so open and honest here, we may be approached by the controlling. Use your best judgement, pray on all relationships, and pay attention to all red flags. I wish you the best and have a great and sober day.

Thank you for sharing this. Since I’ve been on here there has been a few “bots” luring me for money. In the last couple months I haven’t had any problems but that’s when we start to feel comfortable with people and forget that predators exist. You can report them on this app.

Thanks Kev. Yeah it was very disheartening to see that people could get on an app like this only to take advantage. I see the blessing in it though. Just like in our addiction, we must create healthy boundaries. This experience helped me to acknowledge and reaffirm that fact.

Welcome Brother, I agree. It’s very disheartening. You will be able to identify them as you see who’s real on here and who are “bots”. My advice is to look at their profile, check out their post(content), how often they post. I also find that when I focus on me having a kind and loving attitude the bots seemed to have been repelled from me… :joy:
Have a blessed day my friend

Definitely! We have to protect our community. The wicked will always see opportunities but this has been a very safe space for me. So let’s weed out the bad people and let them know we see them. Predators hate to be seen. Thanks for your support.

Flag and report. It used to be really bad but Loosid has done a very good job of reeling it in.

Just because we quit using doesn’t mean we get well

Sometimes on this app you will come across bots or people trying to get us to give them our what’s app number… I was a sucker once and downloaded the app. It’s not for me. Scammers or bots on this app. I’d say in the last few months it’s been pretty chill for me. Just be careful when giving information to anyone. I feel if you’re honest with God you’ll be protected

What does that do for them? Giving them that number?

I’m not sure… but I can say that it’s also happened on IG and other sites I’m on.
My thoughts are they sell your number and then you get a bunch of spam calls…

I work in cybersecurity. Never give anyone your phone number or email unless you have to. Phishing and Smshing(sms text attacks) attempts have increased probably 10x since last year. Be aware that we live in a time where data is the new dollar. Protect your identity.
