Missing alcohol a little bit today. Just dealing with all the emotions that I’ve kept at bay for years. Also confronting the reality of life/future/past which are all things that I could use alcohol to avoid.
Still staying sober, just needed to get that off my chest.
Yes! The emotions we buried and avoided by using alcohol. I remember when I started feeling those emotions. Dam what is this, and dam I have to deal with it. The best part is when the joy and laughter return.
I'm dealing with the same thing. I'm going to an A.A. meeting tonight. I need support and be around people that know what I'm going through.

Feel the emotions! Cry, scream in the woods like at the forest preserves during the day. Journal, sing, color, dance, workout to get it out! If you allow it the body will release it. You will feel so much better ! Its scary at first, but the more you do it, the more comfortable it will slowly become. You will still remember drink, and might even dream about, but as long as you don’t act on the thoughts… you will be okay! #onedayatatime
