More disappointment today

Took a leap this year and discovered today it has set me back at least a year in another area. Feeling defeated.

I wish I had someone to talk to

I don’t like the idea of having to pay just to have someone listen to me.

Raymond, I think the hardest thing for people in sobriety to do, is make friends. I have a hard time every day.

I don't go to too many meetings, but I do. Just let it out at a meeting.

If you don't go to AA, consider it. It's a group of people that want to talk just like you and sometimes they're polite enough to listen. Lol!

Stuff happens man, don't give up! Sometimes I tell myself I won't drink today, but now there are times when I don't even think about it

Hey , as long as you get up it’s a new beginning

What good is waking up if you’re always miserable?

Just a thought but your very sober existence may be keeping someone else alive.

I am truly sorry that you are feeling alone and miserable. I can assure you that I can relate. But you are still here and still sober despite that pain while others are still struggling to stitch a couple of days together.

To some of them, you may be an example that no matter how hard life hits, it is still possible to stay sober.

Don't underestimate how important you are to someone who is struggling.

I don’t know how I could ever be an inspiration to anyone. I’m clearly an insecure mess.

That is how you see you, not how others might see you.

And that is coming from someone who is an insecurity dumpster fire most of the time!

That’s not what therapy is about at all

Sorry to hear. Msg anytime you need to vent. And look into what your insurance covers for therapy, it has become a very integral part of keeping my balance. It’s nice to have an unbiased ear.

I’m not going to therapy. I’m not going to pay hundreds of dollars again just to have someone nod and say I should “get out more” and other useless platitudes, which is what it has been in the past.

If I’m paying for any service, it’ll be the kind you find in Vegas. At least then I’d get my money worth.

Maybe there are some online groups where people with similar feelings meet and greet, etc. I’ve had poor counseling in the past and later found great counseling. Some of them are literally worthless. Glad I didn’t give up.

Go to AA. There’s no judgment , u don’t have to be religious . They will listen and make u understand ur not alone . And it’s free. Sometimes they ask for a buck or 2 for coffee. I’m not a regular but everytime I go I feel better

Look up NEWCOMERS AA MEETING NEAR YOU.

I don’t know the specifics. But feel free to PM me about what’s going on. It might help to get it out and get another person’s perspective.
