Mornings

Sometimes, after my alarm goes off, I stay in bed and wait...
I wait for a hangover to hit, I wait for the guilt, and I look for a reason to bail on life.
It's an old habit. Just like drinking. One i have to overcome.
Get up! Start the day! Seems simple, but 2 years sober and my mornings are occasionally very trying.
I will not drink today. I have a plan for tomorrow.
Peace...

Are you in a place Steven whete you can volunteer and serve others? It may be AA or another organization...when you help others, you help yourself. And you can develop friends and skills too.

I think that may be the best advice. I had to drop most of the old crowd so it's me and the cats at home now.
My difficulty is in my unique religious views. It does not translate into AA very well.

You need to make a life so you don't want to drink...AA does that for a lot of people but not everyone. I think you need a strong support system and use those people before you want to drink or use...you can do it!! Good luck!!
