Took on a new appearance today. Good guy, hard working young man. Told him 3 things I expect. (1) be on time; if you’re not early, you’re late. (2) give me your best speed at a high level. Said to him my speed is different than yours but do your best. (3) do things right. If you screw up let me know and I’ll show you how to fix it and where you want wrong.
I’m not the best but I take pride in my work. Bought him lunch and he reached for his wallet… I told him you keep working; your money is no good here. Keep working and learning. The more you work the better my retirement will be. I’ll never let an apprentice buy my lunch. That’s the way I was taught. Hope that was the right thing to do.
