What kind of music does everyone like? I need to know who i’m dealin’ with here.
I love that an old song can come on then… BAM. You remember who you were with, what point in life you were at, who you were dating… etc. I don’t know if anyone would guess by just looking at my pictures what kind of music I grew up on or currently and always been into. I could be wrong…
We are all from different States and grow up differently, so I’m really curious to find out. Once I start getting comments coming in, i’ll make sure i let you all know what type I used to like or currently like. Then we can all share amazing life changing music together!
🫶🏻 Also REALLY looking forward to similarities, if there is any…
Kumbaya ! 🪵:fire:
There’s joy and tragedy in all music. There’s literally a flavor for any mood you could be in at any point. Just hit shuffle on all of it. But to answer your question…right now it’s Slash, Tommy Emmanuel, Peter Gabriel, and any Nocturne.
This is an awesome question!
For me I was into all kinds of music growing up. At a young age I love the 70’s & 80’s as that was what my parents listen too. As I grew older so did my taste for music. 90’s country, punk rock and rap were on top. I can say that for some reason at a young age I developed this fear of what others will think of me based on the music I listen to. So I would openly say to others when a song would come on I don’t like this can of music or that song sucks. Not sure why this happened to me but it really distanced myself from just being me.
Today I’ve changed my ways of thinking and music as I’m into music with a good vibe/message. Ranges from country faith -to instrumental/meditation music. I’m not into music that’s not positive. I do love me some Taylor Swift!
and today I don’t care what others think! I will enjoy what plays in my ears out loud for others to hear.
In early sobriety I was introduced to Andy Grammer and I can say his music helped me get through some of the darkest times. Angels and Airwaves is another go to band I love!
I’ll enjoy some 90’s punk once in awhile! I feel that, for me, I take on the energy that music puts and it actually has a big effect on my daily life!
My advice is to keep an open mind about music! Never let someone tell what you like isn’t good. Be you! Turn up the radio! Sing and dance! Thank you for sharing this!
I know what you mean about music. There's a song that reminds me of my grandfather dancing. I was in awe.
I love Gospel music.
I've been really vibing to newer bands that have that retro 80s sound like La Bouquet - Kiss Me, Kill Me and Active Child - Hanging On. But I love mostly all music. Anything but that new trap/mumble rap kids are listening to these days
But my all time favorite band is called Circa Survive, their album On Letting Go is
I listen to the Grateful Dead mostly. I have an app called Relisten and I can listen to recordings of just about every show they ever played.
Althea and Wharf Rat are 2 songs that address addiction big time.
Thank you ALL sm for sharing. Sorry it took me so long to reply to this post. So growing up I listened to A LOT of rap and R&B mostly, some rock here and there… A lot of Tupac, 3-6 Mafia, Twista,Do or die, Bone thugs n Harmony, Aaliyah, TLC, MYA, Usher… Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Incubus. I was going through my old cd’s and i’m in the middle of making some playlists.
Totally agree about the new rap we got playing on the radio. I try and put my son and his friends on to the REAL rap we had that actually talks about something and has a message. I literally have to look up the lyrics on the new stuff to know what they are saying and most the time it doesn’t even mean anything LOL.
Nowadays I still love my rap and r&b. I am really into Kiana Lede, Leon Bridges, Khalid, Sevyn Streeter, H.E.R… still listen to my older rap artists… very few newer ones. Mostly into R&B.
Absolutely. Music is the one thing that has never let me down and i’m never ashamed of it. Gets us through the hardest and best times of our lives. It speaks to us even when we don’t realize it. Thank you sm for sharing!!
You’re welcome! I’m glad to be of service.
