My best friend my brother from another mother has been missing for a week now and I'm stressed out. Feeling helpless because of not being there and it's got me thinking about a drink

That is scary. Do you think your friend would be happy to hear you drank over him?? Even as distressing as that is, you can find ways of getting through that don’t involve drinking. Call a sober buddy. Take a walk. Do breathing meditation.
