Sunday is my best friends birthday. The first one we will actually be spending together in 4 years! I will be there. I want to be there, but I don’t want to drink. It’s a pool party, and there will be booze. Lots of it. This is going to be the hardest test yet. I’m nervous, but hoping maybe if I can get my BF to go with me he’ll help me stay away from it- he’s also a recovering alcoholic, but much further along in his journey and doesn’t deal with as much temptation anymore.

If you have a funny feeling don’t go…. It won’t be worth the anxiety unless tour BF joins then at least you can hold each other accountable

I’m nervous about it for sure, but I talked to her and she’s doing a mocktail bar because one of her other friends is also AF! So I’m hoping that helps.

Plus, I need to make more friends here that are AF! I’m hoping maybe if I meet her then she can help me find some good AF activities/communities
