My brother passed away a few days ago. I've never experienced this kind of pain. I've lost a lot of people over the years, and it's never easy, but this is something entirely different. It feels like my limbs have been ripped off. It's like siblings don't even have our own bodies; we all share one. I don't want to drink or use. I just want my brother back in my arms. Has anyone been here before?
I am so sorry. I cannot imagine the pain. If you need anything please ask. Ask for help. We are a big network and are here for you.
I'm so sorry Brittany. I can't fathom your pain- but I do know your feelings are valid and common.
My prayers are with you.
Brittany- I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending you love and prayers. I do not have a family member who passed however I have had dear friends and sponsees pass from OD’s this year and it is devastating.
Like you, I am a member of the no matter what club. What helps me is throwing myself into service as it helps me a great deal.
Always here for you.
My best friend, closest I've had to a brother suddenly passed away 3 months ago, it felt like someone tore my heart out..it still does. Alcohol played a role but I believe that he hid a heroin addiction from everyone.
I'm sorry for your loss, Brittany
I’m so sorry for your loss. I have 2 brothers. We’re thick as thieves. I can’t imagine being in your shoes. Praying for you
Prayers for you through this! The easy way out is to drink or use. But the next day the pain is still there. I will pray that God’s Blessing will be upon you through this difficult time.
Very sorry for your loss. He will always be with you in memory and spirit.
Hey Brittany: Please accept my heartfelt condolences on losing your brother. Personally, I have never suddenly lost someone close to me. You're doing the exact right thing by talking about it amongst us, your peers in recovery. Please keep sharing about it and try to stay close to the rooms? If you have a sponsor, then I'm sure that you are in touch. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
John S.
My condolences to you and your family. I haven’t lost anyone to death while sober so I’m not sure how I would respond. I’m sure I’d have a lot more emotions now. Well, what I’ve been learning over the weekend is heaven is a beautiful place. With colors so vibrant human words can’t even come close to describing them. I believe we are all here to serve a purpose and when we fulfill that purpose we move on to the next phase of our existence. Which is to guide the earthlings that need guidance. Brittany, your brother is near and will protect and guide when needed. Remember drinking may look like a solution to these emotions but we all know it’s not.
G0d bless you and your family.
I lost my older brother, his son, my nephew, my Mom, dad, stepdad and niece. Its surreal when your alone and cant help but to think about your own mortality. It can be a dangerous place, so I dont stay long. Sometimes I curse God and sometimes I just cry and ask why. But at the end of the day, it only makes you hold on tighter to those you love. I dont waste time on things anymore, i invest time in those i love and cherish every moment !! Sorry for your loss !
I am so sorry for your loss. Though your loved one is no longer here physically, they will always be with you in memory and spirit.
Lost my older brother when I was 19 he was 21 I let that consume me and took it out on the world for a long time I'm here to talk if you want to get into detail about it. Grief is tricky don't let it dominate you
Never a sibling. I can't even imagine. I've lost those I considered brothers.
Hang in there. You're in my prayers.
Yes I lost my older brother to suicide... I can't put into words the pain.
I lost my brother to cancer several years ago. I still miss him and get teary whenever I think of him. But time does help. Take time to greave then do something for someone else. You will feel the joy of helping again
I'm so sorry
