My life has changed for the better

Hello friends, I want to share something that I think can help all of us out. A month or two ago I hit the alcohol hard, and got stuck in a binge. Thanks to support from persons here, I am free from alcohol. Not fighting urges, not in a pity party, not feeling left out, and not wandering what the f is wrong with me. I am free from it.

In addition to a lot of good help during that binge one person suggested a book, 'Alan Carr's quit drinking without willpower' and I ordered it immediately because I wanted to quit drinking. A few chapters in and I put alcohol down, and haven't touched it since. I don't make any money off this book btw. The book illustrates the physical addiction mechanism of alcohol very well, and also shows how all of the supposed benefits of alcohol which we have learned over years and years of social norms and advertising are illusions. Seriously every perceived benefit of drinking alcohol is an illusion. It's an addictive drug that folks can make a ton of money on, and it's everywhere seeming innocent as a stress reliever(it doesn't relieve stress), a refreshing beverage (that immediate relief is placebo; it takes 6 to 8 minutes for alcohol to reach the brain), and more. So some of us have gotten tangled up in this drug waaaaay worse than other folks, but at the end of the day there is simply no good reason to put alcohol inside our bodies, since it doesn't do what we thought it did and definitely causes stress as our bodies work to purge the poison and correct chemical imbalance.

I realize this is long, but my life is seriously changed for good. To show some persons in my life that I am serious this time I decided to use soberlink as well. It costs a fair bit but to be able to show these persons that alcohol no longer has a hold on me and that they can count on me has been a real blessing thus far.

I wish you well in your life's journey.
