It's not experimental it is FDA approved. Millions of people have been saved because of the vaccine. I would be more worried about my child dying of covid then having some mild side effects from the vaccine.

As Cathleen pointed out, it's hardly experimental and through the years vaccines saved countless lives. I'm sure you were vaccinated as child.
You don't mention the age of your children. I don't understand how your parents were able to do it.

Only 1 is FDA approved. Not all 3. The one that is approved requires a booster every 5-6 months. So I definitely understand her concern injecting all that into her kids.
Also, people who get the vaccine can get COVID-19 and die from it. Your last statement definitely comes across as if that's impossible.
No vaccine is 100% safe. Vaccines can cause autism. I've heard of many people who have had the vaccine and died from complications.

So here is a few unpopular facts.
- The FDA approval of a vaccine does not mean it isnt experimental. In fact that is one of the many steps of proving a drug.
- people with the vaccine can still get, carry, and die from covid.
- vaccines that were approved were once recalled because of side effects. In the swine flue outbreak in the 70s or 80s the fda rushed approval on a vaccine that of the 2 or 3 million that got it over 100,000 died and many more were left with life long disability from gionee barre syndrome. Further in the early 60s a vaccine was recalled because 1/3 of the children it was given to died.
- the issue of vaccinating a child that is not in your custody is actually a violation of law. A minor can not even see a doctor without custodial parent consent. Some states extend this to grandparents but not many.

Are you ready to tell that my friend and his family though he died from complications from the vaccine? Or what about the lady who got brain clots as a side effect? I guess they're "safe" because they didn't get COVID-19 by your reasoning.

Would you take the new drug from Merck after getting the virus? It is on emergency approval but has greatly decreased the chance of death.

It has to be testable, provable, and repeatable for it to be science. For the sake of your kids I hope you're right.

And I am not asking you to take advice on what I know. I'm tired of people pretending there is no reason for concern because the government says so. Or in the name of science.

Let's look at it like this, there are a lot of different views around the vaccine. I have actually been warned by my doctor it isnt for me. My health issues mean this vaccine could be a danger to me. The idea of vaccinating or not is a personal conviction and not a topic that discussions like this will help decide. Discussions around it should be handled like one on politics. Not everyone has to agree, and if they don't they aren't inherently dumb or evil.
For the OP I am sure the stress of this issue could have been a trigger. I am glad they found a way to vent and not use.

I'm with you Steven. Furthermore, parenting is the hardest job we'll ever do. When a parent is doing what they think is right and is really looking after the best interest of their child(ren) let them.
We're so quick to jump the gun based on small pieces of info while showing no empathy.
I respect the OP perspective. At the end of the day she's responsible for her childrens' well-being.

Love these comments. Many people here can't stay sober but are suddenly vaccine experts.... The issue is not about the vaccine, but usurping a mother's rights on how to care for her kids. The grandparents were in the wrong.

It's not blatantly false. People with opposing views to the vaccine have been shut down. Why is NYC firing health care workers if we are in a pandemic? Why do health workers refuse the jab? We had Aids for 40 years but no vax, cancer & the cold forever but no vax. This vax is less than a year old but it's safe? Ok. Sounds reasonable.

I’m sorry they just went ahead and did that. Not caring even remotely how it would make you feel even though they are your kids. Plus small kids are not at risk compared to everyone else.

Oh sheesh. Really people? This is a thing nowadays? 99% of American population has had vaccines pumped into them some point in their lives. Ergo, small pox, measles, diphtheria, etc. are eradicated. What is wrong with humankind today? When you started school as a kid you had to be vaccinated. Looks like Putin and zuckerberg have done a great job brainwashing the world into idiocy. Welcome to the de-evolution of mankind folks. To much chit being pumped into people’s brains. Welp, looks like we got to learn to live with another deadly disease. Science created this crap, only science can eradicate it. Which will never happen because humans are smarter than science. Can’t believe this is a thing!

I never had to be vaccinated to go to school. Yes, I had to show proof if I was vaccinated or not. That was it to attend school. But I did have to get vaccinated to play sports.
Us old heads had to be vaccinated. Different times.
