My reasons why

I’m sober today because I can not end up like the other alcoholics in my family - to get a job I really like - to help lower my anxiety - to be healthier and get back to my modeling measurements - to feel alive again - to find my creativity again - to heal my relationships - dance classes - to get ME BACK from this disease!

I’m so proud of myself today I had an intense craving and I didn’t give in. I can’t remember the last time I did this I’m so happy I asked the higher power for strength and it spoke to me it helped.

Awesome!

Just don’t forget what an alcoholic’s problem is, and it’s not alcohol! To the contrary, booze is the alcoholic’s solution, it’s the alcoholic’s medicine.

The alcoholic’s problem is alcoholISM, which is an incurable and fatal mental disease. If all we are doing is staying sober, we are suffering from untreated alcoholISM and it certainly won’t get better. Anxiety, anger, worry, fear…. All those symptoms of our mental disease get worse and worse until we finally relapse so we can treat those symptoms with our medicine.

Things certainly do NOT get better over time if all we do is not drink. Every real alcoholic knows this from experience.

There is a solution though! Get together with recovered alcoholics, they know how to stay sober. Ask them for help and they’ll show you how to overcome alcoholism and REMOVE the drinking problem. God bless!:pray:

I think you’d love kundalini yoga. It changed my life in the beginning of this journey!!

Well said

Gregg, extremely well said. I've never heard it explained quite that way.

That is an awesome explanation and I wished someone explained it in this way to me when I first got sober. Or maybe they did and I wasn’t able to listen because I was in my own way. Thank you for sharing this.

I'll add this too. Allie mentioned dance. My creative outlet is guitar. Finding something you truly love is very important. There are different paths we take, but ultimately, using your energy positively will do wonderful things.
