My relapse dreams feel so real, even after waking up, I feel dizzy.
Using dreams are the worst!!! They are so intense and the relief you feel when you realize it was all a dream is intense also. Shake it off, someone on this app told me it’s our brain re wiring itself, along with other contributing factors. BUT you woke up sober another day. Good for you
Aren’t they insane! I’ve been having a lot of those lately too!
I hear you. I have been having nightmares. I haven't had a direct using dream, but I have had these awful dreams where I'm getting torchered.
I wake up in a sweat and all disoriented. It's hard man. Trying to get there....
Remember they are just dreams. Play the video of when your using and awful it is and remember how it feels.
Ugg I had them bad the first several months. They are awful but they do lessen. Still occasionally have them but they don’t have the effect they had in early sobriety.
I had them bad when I first got sober. But they have been lessening as time goes by. But, yes, it's amazing how real they seem. Even down to the taste and smell sometimes. It's only been 2 months and I haven't had one for awhile, thankfully.
Same! I think it’s our minds trying to go back to what we were used to. But it gets better! I’m 15 days in an in a recovery center used to wake up with wild dreams an sweats . But the best part is when you realize it was just a dream! Lol
Yeah. If I use I never actually feel anything except dizzy, and then I wake up feeling really guilty. but don’t anybody shame yourself, and add more suffering.
Just had my first one in years, but I never actually get the drugs in my dreams lol. The dream doesn’t let me. in one I’m about to hit a crack pipe and my mom and sister teleport into the room no matter where I go. Over and over

I think that’s part of our brains way of telling ourselves to be vigilant. And that the seeking is part of the cycles of addiction. Studies show that dopamine spikes high when you Call your dealer, or perhaps you have some ritual with your paraphernalia and it’s all based on anticipation. with time the dreams become less severe.
But don’t be afraid to connect with your inner nature, pay attention to those dreams and what your subconscious is trying to tell you, or what you interpreted as after you wake up. It may mean nothing, and simply be a memory distorted and being shown back to you. But it might be a warning or an indicator that you have other stresses in life you should address or else you may be at a higher level of risk.
Just joined this site so sweet dreams everybody in EST and have awesome sober lives everybody! If I text past midnight I can’t seem to keep it under five paragraphs
Try not to analyze the dream too much. Just say ty, it was all a dream I used to read...
Been there. Sometimes it takes a while to realize it was just a dream. But thankfully they're just dreams at least.
They are very bizarre I didn’t even realize that this was a thing … then some people here told me it’s normal…
It’s a part of it. I wouldn’t worry about them. It’s a good sign that that is what you don’t want anymore
They sure do, luckily I’ve not had too many so far
Relapse dreams feel very real and are sometimes bizzare. It is normal and it will go away as time goes on.
I have 7+ years and have dreams now and again that have me fighting with someone who's trying to get me to drink and I refuse to give in.
