Hello, new guy here. Recovering alcoholic. Vodka being my drink of choice. 15 years. I recently got out of the hospital. I nearly died. Eroded esophagus, ulcers, diabetic keto acidosis, puking blood, anemia, the list goes on. I was intubated and had dialysis at the same time. Spent a total of 11 days in two ICU’s, ER and recovery in a regular room. Today i am 23 days sober. A month will be a milestone for me.

I had a similar experience almost 4 years ago, I had a bleeding ulcer and I had blood coming out of both ends, I was so sick for 2 weeks and when I went to the doctor finally he told me I had to stop drinking for 3 months for the medication that he prescribed me to work, he told me that I didn’t stop drinking I would end up in the hospital, that scared me and I was in so much pain that I was willing to do anything for it to go away, after 4 months of being on the medication I didn’t even want another drink, all I can say is that for me that was a wake up call that saved my life and I hope for you that this experience that you’re going through is what saves yours,
