My uncle just drank himself to death. My family knew this would happen eventually, we just didn’t realize it would happen so soon. I’m early in my recovery. I believe my higher power wanted me to see it as a cautionary tale. The lesson has not been lost on me.

Sorry you had to experience that. Hope you get through this. Alcohol is the worse of all drugs. Stay strong and hope you stay that sober path.

My brother was same way. It got to a point of no return for him and everyone just stopped trying. Burned bridges and all. But it is definitely that cautionary tale, too. So something good came out of it I guess.
