My wife drank wine in front of me last night. I was able to abstain! I just basically ignored it. Every good decision gives me strength and confidence to make another going forward.

My daughters did not drink in front of me to make it less stressful for me in the early stages. I am now 2 years sober and they still are hesitant. I encourage them to enjoy and I am ok.

I just told them if they want to have drink in front of me I am secure in the fact it does not trigger a desire for me. They are still a little hesitant but I am the one with the problem and I know that I have to live in the real world.

I agree LaVerne, alcohol is all around us everyday. There is no way to not be exposed. I was listening to a speaker the other day that talked about the same thing. You said exactly the same thing he did!
