The first day I was finally able to wake up feeling completely normal and not withdrawing from heroin sickness. :point_up::pray::+1::+1::heart:

There are a lot of joyous moments in my sobriety.
Praying and meditation
Waking up sober
When I go to a meeting.
Calling other alcoholics
Being of service
Witnessing the spiritual growth that’s taking shape in a sponsee.
Handling business
Getting through tough times with a story to share and the tools to use.
These all bring me joy!

Waking up sober and putting my head to rest on the pillow at night! I ask God for his help throughout the day when I wake up and thank him for giving me another sober day when I close my eyes at night!

Life is not easy. And it never will be. But I’m starting to believe more and more than we control our happiness. The deeper I get into the steps, the more I experience happier moments in my life. All I really know is that while I was drinking, I hadn’t been happy for a long, long time so I’m willing to do whatever it takes to avoid going back to that state of mind as I, as well as all of us, deserve better. Keep on fighting, Thomas :slight_smile:
