Navigating grief

My grandfather died yesterday. He was my hero. He and my grandmother were like a tall strong lighthouse as I navigated a constantly stormy sea in my youth and young adulthood. They commended my successes, and sat with me in my failures. Their home is the only home I knew growing up. It all feels surreal. I am still sober though!

Allie, I am sorry. Grief can be so hard to navigate. I do know that he isnt done teaching you. My grandparents have been gone a while now and they still teach me on a fairly regular basis.

Dont be afraid to reach out. Picking up again is a terrible option and no solution. Just do t forget that and keep on making him proud!!!

I think you’re amazing for remaining sober through your grief. I never could. I commend you.
