I’m fresh out of treatment, and unfortunately where I currently am I can’t attend any meetings except virtual ones. I’m looking for people on here who are open to allowing me to add them to my Network. Also actively looking for a sponsor.

Welcome Brother Alex! I check in here daily to the best of my ability. I hope you can find a sponsor soon. What program are you looking at working? AA or NA? Or other 12 step programs?

I wonder if you could start messaging the chairperson at each virtual meeting, tell them you are a newcomer, and that you are looking for a temporary sponsor. Then they could make sure to add that to the opening of the meeting - most virtual meetings I did in treatment opened with still asking for temporary sponsors at the start of the meeting. There is also usually a group chat feature in most virtual meetings, I think? You could plug yourself in there, tell them you are looking to get numbers, and go from there? It will come. The right sponsor is out there. I hope you can get to in person meetings soon. For me, that’s where the magic happens. Keep going - you’re doing great!

Nice! I hope you can find a sponsor soon! Keep up the good work! I don’t know much about the program. Steps are the same but I believe there is a workbook that goes with the steps. I’m in AA. Helps me a lot…

Going to have to travel a bit but going to my first in person meeting today! Do you suggest a good place to find virtual meetings? Every virtual meeting I’ve tried and I’ve tried a few I join and it’s just a bunch of people hanging out line lol no structure no reference to the text no prayer just hanging out 
Yes! Good for you - in person are what I prefer and find so much value in. You can use the AA meeting guide app and it should have a camera icon next to the meetings around you that are just virtual.
Or, just Google “aa virtual meetings” and you can select from that. I just did it and a bunch of virtual meetings came up.
Some recovery centers have virtual meetings too, like a place called Highwatch here in CT. I didn’t go there for treatment but have attended a couple virtual meetings when I was too sick for in person - they are at 7:30 pm every night. Google Highwatch daily recovery virtual meetings and you should be able to find it.
