Need advice

That's awesome that u have such a supportive husband! Unfortunately, I do not have that kind of respect in my household, but I'm working on making my needs very clear and emphasizing the importance of it all.

I couldn't agree more! :hugs:

Hi Lia, while it’s not the same, it is similar, I was a bartender for my first 11 months of sobriety. The tools that I used to stay sober at that time were telling everyone around me that I was no longer drinking, checking in with people regularly who supported my sobriety, respecting when I didn’t have the fortitude to do social things that also included alcohol, meditation, and yoga. This all helped me stay accountable and honest. I know it’s different if you’re dealing with roommates who are addicts, but continually reminding them that you no longer use, and maybe making a deal about your progress would keep them reminded, I’m thinking a day counter on the fridge or something, if that would be okay in your house. Definitely have some clean/sober people in your phone to call when things come up. And, in my experience, users/alcoholics don’t really respect boundaries, so I don’t know if a honest vulnerable conversation with them would be helpful. Good luck! And reach out if you need help!

Try to go to meetings.they will help.read the big book.

Thanks for the feedback, Jenn! I love the idea of a sober tracker in shared spaces. I may have to try that. At the moment, I don't have much of a support system, that's why I'm here to make friends and have someone to lean on when temptation arises, and vice versa of course.
