Need sober friends

I've been clean and sober for six months and I'm new to the area in in and have no support system except my parents really and their 4 hours away i have went to 2 NA meetings so far and i start IOP tonight at 4 pm and I'm nervous and shy so don't know how well it will go especially sharing in person.

Best thing to do, i think is to remind yourself of the hangover of anything. No one likes that feeling

Thanks I appreciate your cander or honesty truly I've had a drug problem since I was 13

Congratulations on six months of sobriety! That is amazing!! Remember that sobriety is a journey and it’s okay to be shy and a little uncertain when starting something new in this journey. Be patient and kind with yourself. You are amazing!!

Congrats on 6 months, I am also in IOP & I have been grateful for the group I get to attend and be a part of.
Find as many resources you can to strengthen your recovery!
12 step meetings, Dharma, Church, Celebrate Recovery have all been amazing help for myself.
Take it one day at a time & embrace times where you may be uncomfortable because you'll grow stronger through getting out of comfort zone!

6 months…daaaaayum. Pretty baller man. Random acts of kindness and being in the service of others always fills the heart. You’ve got a lot of good experience and insight to share with 6 months under your belt. Great job!

Charles, keep going to the in person meetings and being of service. Being of service is sharing and helping others when you can. To make friends be a good friend first and don’t expect anything in return.
I’m here if you want to talk
