Need some suggestions on how to handle this bordem. I am a week shy of 2 months and the last few days have been driving me up the wall.

I have custody of my daughter and she keeps me pretty busy. We do hair, makeup, go shopping, have girl talk :joy:, play in the rain, go to parks and so much more. When she's not with me though is when the struggle begins.. I like to hit the beach, go to the park and swing, longboard, talk with friends who know the struggle too, do art, and find anything to keep my mind of using. Sometimes I take myself on dates too. It's hard at times and staying inside sucks but it keeps me safe and grounded when I can't find anything else to do. Find a hobby or just write. I find writing is very helpful.

Crocheting, journaling, learn a new skill.

Those are a lot of really good suggestions and sound super fun. I even love playing or laying in the rain by myself

I love the rain. My daughter and I go to parks all the time it rains. It's like a waterpark for us. Not to mention the joy of jumping in a puddle is so exhilarating.

I used to crochet with my nonni lol I actually am a director of culinary for a senior living account and do ball room dancing with the seniors. Old people animals and kids are the best to be around lol it's people our age that suck :joy:

The best thing is going on trampolines when it’s raining, or putting a sprinkler under it! I love it!!

Or jumping in your neighbors pool when they are sleeping :joy: I mean they're not using it so why shouldn't you be allowed to..

Trampolines are lots of fun in the rain. Nothing beats getting wet and acting like a kid.

Read some good books about recovery. I suggest “this naked mind” by Annie Grace.

Exactly on point!

I LOVE reading, just haven’t really read much about recovery. But have been reading some self help books etc

I’m at a gas station right now but when I get home I could send you a bunch of good reading material. Not all is about recovery. Some are about healing your inner child which I’ve read has a lot to do with addiction. I’m a book nerd and find reading occupies my mind to not think about drinking or doing drugs. I don’t know what climate you live in but outdoor activities like hiking and rock climbing are also good for the soul. If it’s warm by you, take your shoes off. You’d be surprised by the power of grounding.

Well, what are some of your interests?

Or do you want to explore new things?

There are sooo many ways to entertain ourselves out there! Gimme a bit and I'll get a good list worked up when I get back to my hotel!

Everything but people our age suck. Lol I'm trying new perspective exercises to increase my positivity

That would be awesome if you guys :100: And Thankyou for the advice  I love doing anything that has to do with being outside, and yeah grounding is crazy theraputic. I always use to do it as a kid even before I knew what it was I was doing

I know what you are feeling! I’m close to 6 months sober and my boredom kills me too. My psychiatrist says I might have ADHD so I would say get yourself tested if you have that because that might be the problem. Also I do the most plain to keep me going. Like I walk a lot or I just clean stuff or you can make a list for each day in what you want to do as simple as making home cook meals so you can go to the store and past time cooking and stuff. Good luck amiga

I’ve been doing a lot of that fersure and it definitely does help. How going you get yourself psychologically tested? I need to do that :100:

Go to meetings or I go on TikTok because I have a recovering family on there that distracts me a lot
