They will never understand that we have an allergy that leads to the craving of more and that normal drinking will never be in our cards. You keep doing the next right thing and remember this has to be for you first and foremost. The family will notice this and hopefully understand you as a person again. God bless

It was suggested to me by my sponsor that you must take step one wholeheartedly and honestly...We admit that we were powerless over alcohol..or substance of your choice...and that our lives had become unmanageable....

Some people will never understand. And dont wait them to. Don't beat yourself up, you are doing great, and congrats on being 6 days sober!
This app has been pleasantly surprising, there are some people here with solid sobriety. More importantly, it seems like there's a lot of support for newcomers. When you feel like you're about to make a bad decision, reach out and get some help! Whenever! Good Luck. It's not easy but, it's definitely worth it.
