It’s so hard to feel alone. Please know that your pain is valid, and also temporary - even though it sure doesn’t feel temporary today. I went thru the pain of losing a 3 year relationship this summer, it was the first breakup in my sobriety. Not gonna lie, it f’ing sucked, and the temptation to numb the pain was so so strong. But now that I’m a few months removed from it, I can see how much healthier and overall “easier” it was to lean in and feel those big, big feelings, and honor them rather than drown them. I wish you calming peace while you navigate this :yellow_heart::muscle:t4: you can do hard things!!! You can. You’re here. And so are all of us to lean on.

Editing to add: I want to clarify that saying “easier” does NOT mean it’s easy, I don’t want to minimize your pain in any way. I just mean that for our long term well-being, navigating the shitstorms in life sober rather than wasted, while incredibly difficult and raw, seems to get us closer to where we want to be - happy, joyous, and free. I’m so sorry you’re hurting and am here if you need an outside ear to vent to :yellow_heart:

Sorry about everything that you are going through. I was able to give up alcohol without cravings thanks to Annie Grace. There is no more desire so therefore, no temptation! Please look up Annie Grace & her book This Naked Mind because she is the absolute BEST!!! Her 2nd book is good too. It’s called The Alcohol Experiment. She has a podcast & is on YouTube. She also has an app that I downloaded on my phone called This Naked Mind Companion app. Good luck & I will pray for you!! :purple_heart:

Alcohol doesn’t help any problem. It only masks the reality of life on life’s terms. You can live a much better and positive free from alcohol.

Welcome Samantha! Life is such a struggle today and even more so when you’re trying to stand on your own. I’ve been trying to make a go alone now for quite some time and I shudder to think of where I’d be without my sober family which includes Loosid. It’s not the easiest thing in the world but it is completely worth it!

Hello Samantha. Welcome aboard . Keep going strong and you’ll get through this

Welcome, I’m glad you’re here

If it was meant to be it will happen. Learn to adapt to situations it makes you stronger.
Work on yourself, join a gym, try yoga, go for walks after dinner, pray, think good thoughts about yourself. Just keep moving and don’t get caught in the mud, like most of us on here.

Problem with drinking/using to numb pain and/or emotions is that we forget how to navigate through these things without our DOC.

Welcome and congratulations. Don't be a stranger. There is an abundance of knowledge, support and encouragement here.

Welcome!

It’s rough but you got this girl
