New here. This is my first ever attempt to join a support group. I'm hopeful to have some real results for the first time ever. Alcohol is the vice that has taken control of me. It's time for me to try something different

Cincinnati area. I have a bunch of online ones written down to check into. In person will be difficult at this time but I am finally coming to terms it's a must
Thank you. The conventional AA meetings just don't feel right for me. It's a lot like a church which I'm not against but I never felt comfortable in church. Hopefully this is a stepping stone to get there. I didn't even realize there are so many other support systems than AA
I feel the same way about church, but I started AA meetings anyway. And I'm glad I did. Stop making excuses and go! Haha. The friendships are so much better than bar friends. Also, there are secular meetings available, online and in person.
