New Here

So Aug 9 I checked myself into a 30 day inpatient treatment center in Yakima Wa. I've been a heroin addict for 25 years so I knew 30 days wasn't enough. So the minute I arrived I started looking for a year long program to continue my treatment. And I landed in Seattle at the Matt Talbot Center. So far it's a wonderful place. They say for someone who finishes the success rate is 93%. I'm really glad to be there and the staff there is awesome. I like the idea of taking a year off to concentrate on healing. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself a little. 55 days today. And I'm still smiling. Looking forward to meeting some of ya'll.

What treatment center did you go to in Yakima? I want to James oldham treatment center

James Oldham.

So glad you found a good place. 30 days for a 25 year habit isn’t going to do it. Good luck where you are.

That's great congratulations H is a tough habit to kick I know

I'm my experience, no length of treatment by itself will do it. I know you know that, I'm just saying. I need to make a lifestyle change. I've been to treatment 4 times and its when I slowly drift away from meetings and friends that I just spiral down mentally.

I am so proud of you. You realized 30 days wouldn’t be enough. A year long program sounds amazing. It will get you into shape. There are lots of nice people here to talk to and bounce ideas off of. Welcome!

Yes, the Matt Talbot Center is outstanding. I have a friend who went through there and he is doing so amazing today. Also, a lot of out standing recovery in Seattle, lots of great meetings and a huge recovery crowd that also have social events going on. Kirkland especially has a great recovery crowd! Keep us up to date!

Thanks Tricia

Welcome Craig!! I’m so glad you made it this far. Far enough to see the fog starting to lift, and joy returning.

Awesome stuff Craig- you are gonna change lives with that incredible honesty- way to go! :fire::raised_hands::100:

My little brother just found his father’s body on Friday, he was a life long heroin addict since 14 and lost the battle at 62. My little brother and sister are not only struggling with the loss of their father but all the mixed emotions that his addiction contributed. Never give up, I promise whatever turmoil the drug numbed actually made it worse.

Salutations Craig! Glad you've found a place ameliorate yourself... keep it up :white_heart:
