New to this app, but have been in recovery for almost 2 years. Just looking to meet new people and build an awesome extended support network outside of my local meeting with folks more around my age. So, hello everyone! If anyone is in the FL panhandle give me a shout.

Hi, my goal is to also meet new people and have a sober support system digitally in addition to the one I’ve got here in my town. I’m 40, live in WA State and will be celebrating 4 years sober on the 19th.

Hey, thank you! It’s alarming that I’ve been sober for nearly 4 years and I’m working on step 5 & 6. I’ve done other recovery work, but time really does fly. Can I be sassy? I’ve not visited your state so I’m just someone who’s been told this, but Florida people are super weird. My friend Angel would share the most hilarious videos of just how strange Floridians can be. Which to me is fantastic. Cause I’m super awkward and weird and socially different than others and have always been the black sheep.
That was my long winded way of telling you that I hope you’re quirky and are comfortable being open.

Haha, yeah Native Floridians are... interesting... I'm not from here originally, but it is home for now. Recovery-wise, I've kept and used a little bit of everything from AA, NA, recovery Dharma, Wellbriety, and SMART to build a solid foundation. As they say, "take what works and leave the rest."

I couldn’t love this response anymore. Dude. YES! I was so unwilling to commit to just one program without educating myself on the others. Wellbriety is my favorite. Where are you from originally? I used to live in Alabama. I’m from western Washington state. I needed a passport moving there.

My dad was military, so I technically don't have a place I call home. Lived all over the country and overseas growing up. It was awesome to see the world and how different people live.
I’m a military brat as well. Didn’t get to live overseas, but did move all over the US. But my mother got out when I was in the 4th grade and we moved to her home state of WA and I lived in the same town from 6th grade on. Born in Louisiana and have strong southern roots, but am a total Pacific Northwest native.
Cool, the gypsy soul runs strong in me still. If I live anywhere for more than 4 years I get a little stagnant and want to experience something new. I have a hard time putting down roots.

If I didn’t have my two kids I’d love to move every 2 years. I genuinely love experiencing new cities and seeing how others live. Eat all the different food. I actually get you, dude. I’m glad I’ve bombarded you with my overbearing approach.
