Do you have a plan of attack or straight will power? I suggest you attend AA meetings or other types of support groups. You got this!

As someone only 10 days, this truly resonates. My guilt and negative self talk were at an all time high. I’ve attended a few meetings, and it’s helped. You got this. We all got your back.

Thank you. I very much needed that. I was afraid to post anything. I don’t have a plan of attack. I just knew that I needed to start somewhere.

Congrats on day 1. I found tea, calm mg drink, epsom salt baths, crossword puzzles, and exercise all help me a lot. Keep the mind and body moving while getting that poison out of your system.

Thank you. That’s the plan. Keep busy. I’ve read a 400 page book today, taught my daughters how to make a chicken dinner and I’m about to bake 2 dozen cookies, donuts and gingerbread :joy:

Great job David. So you have local community support or have you started AA? Today is my first time posting on here. I've been browsing this app for a couple of days and it's very cool. One day at a time David.

Aloha Tonya, arriving at you first day of sobriety sure doesnt come easy. I recommend getting to an AA meeting. It's an amazing fellowship that I avoided for a long time but once I finally went to one, I fell in love with the fellowship. You'll find so much love with you newly found recovery friends no matter where you seek them. It's taken me several setbacks but the groups do not judge and are so happy to have us weather we have one day, week, month.

Starting this new journey is tough. Were used to relying on alcohol everyday And then suddenly we deprive our body of alcohol and suppressing our feelings.

Now we start to feel again. Our heads are like a squirrel cage. You are going to have some cravings for a while. One of the ways you can curb your cravings is by taking in some sugar. Try drinking some Orange juice and honey.

And don't hang out with people wo drink or in places where there is alcohol.

I've been around this thing for a long long time and I'm coming up on 9 years. I can testify that the program of Alcoholics Anonymous is a program that works if you follow their suggestions.

If you really want to get a jump start on this thing I suggest that you start going to 90 meetings in 90 days.

When you go to AA meeting you can build your support group. I haven't known too many alcoholics that could do this on their own. The ones that do, end up with nothing more than a dry drunk.

This a great app for finding AA meetings. Works on both platforms.

You have a much better life ahead of you if you take it one day at a time.

We don't get this way overnight. It's 10 miles Into the woods and 10 miles back out.
