New medication proposal

Thank you brother! One day at a time! One of the greatest truths of life is simply that things change. We are not our greatest failures, and we are not only our greatest achievements/good deeds. We are human. And whatever happens in between is just part of the ride.

It's already been proven that diet soda pop aspartame causes aneurysms in your brain. My only drink of choice these days is water.

Yeah true. They'll take it out and replace it with something else.

High fructose corn syrup.. that shït is evil and is KILLING poor people.

Im with you.
High fructose corn syrup is just another name for sugar to get past all the legal limitations.
I make some great pastries such as carrot cake and banana bread. The only thing I sweeten up with is dates.

Great stuff with no guilty conscience.
At age 64 I lost 35 lbs and now I fit into clothes that I haven't fit into since high school.
I am a vegan for life!

Nice! I have been vegan for 15 years now.

I'm 64 and I was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. My friend who is a health coach recommended that I try becoming a vegan. That was almost two and a half years ago. I also had to give up coffee which I quit for about the fourth time. When I do what I'm supposed to do the PSA numbers come down which means the cancer is not growing.

I try to tell people that I eat like a king. I just don't eat what everyone else eats.

Have you ever paid a visit to the Whole Food plant-based Cooking Channel on youtube?

Yeah being in the Midwest is weird as far as food goes. People here seem to feel offended if you don't eat like they do. Very weird.

I feel good though. It's made a huge difference in my health and even better without drinking!

I do all of that daily. Been on meds for 10yrs but not abilify

I’ve been on it before, I had no side effects and it didn’t make me feel like I wasn’t myself. The last time I was on it I actually requested to be on it as a mood stabilizer to piggyback off of my Antidepressant

Yeah they ended up not putting me on it, she was like “i dont think you have schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder, just anxiety, depression, and social anxiety. upped the vyvanse dosage im on other meds for antidepressant/anxiety and such

Yeah thats kinda the way they suggested it but as of right now they ended up saying they don’t deem it 100% necessary

If you ever think about going on it it might help anyways, I’m not diagnosed with anything other than depression and anxiety and it helps. So if you’re not getting the results from the changes they’re making you could always look back into this. It’s not for everybody I’ve read some of the other comments and people have some horror stories, but it did help me and it did work for me. I am currently off of it because they put me on another medication that does something similar with stabilizing moods but they also use that medication I believe for other disorders like schizophrenia bipolar disorder and stuff like that. Sometimes the meds we take have side effects that actually help our ailments even when we’re not diagnosed with what those meds were made for.

Thank you so much! Steph (my prescriber) said that too she fully explained everything they prescribe it for but she still thinks its not necessary for now anyways. The only thing I’m wondering now is they keep suggesting go up on the Zoloft and it maxes out at 200mg im on 150mg they said try 200mg and im just like ehh if i just keep building up a tolerance lets try talking about what you’ll end up switching me to lol

I see what you’re saying, I’m not sure that your body actually build up a tolerance to anti-depressants. I think it actually needs to be used in order to balance our brain chemistry. Unfortunately I work in the medical field but I’m not a doctor or a nurse but I have had to explain similar things like this and at the same time I’ve also been in your shoes frustrated with all the meds they throw at you. Maybe you could try the 200 and talk about what they would try next if that doesn’t work or what their plan is next. I don’t know I really can’t say what is good for you but you never know. just try to be patient with them as frustrating as it is because not everything works for everybody. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow that I’m probably dreading because we’re gonna go over all the new meds that I was recently put on and it’s going to be a struggle because I feel like the one I’m taking is not working and I’m going to be told to just hang in there or they’re gonna just increase the dose or something . so I know it’s frustrating and I totally get it

I am on a low dose of Abilify and I find it helpful. It has helped me to sleep, and to reduce intrusive thoughts. Everyone is ultimately different and you have to do what is best for you.
