New sponsor needed

Hey y’all not sure I’ll have luck here but I’ve had my current sponsor for 3 months and they refused to do step work with me they never answer the phone when I call. I’m looking for a more reliable sponsor. I prefer local to me so we can go to meetings together

You are doing the right thing by looking for a new sponsor! I’m sorry that this happened to you though. It makes me sad to hear that. By 3 months you should be about done with your steps and moving on with your life helping another. Where are you from?

Alpena Michigan it really sucks because it’s been a month of missed my friends

I think the steps have different timing for everyone. My sponsor and I have been taking our time with each step, and honestly I’m super grateful for that bc I get to soak in as much as possible. In my journey, I’m not in a rush with the steps..afterall, we have to continue to work those steps throughout our sobriety..or I’m planning to. As for your sponsor not answering, yea, that a big issue. You’re definitely doing the right thing in reaching out.

I’m sure there are lots of meetings there. Find the person that has what you want! Also find someone that is in the big book. I spent my first three years in the program and never went through the book. That’s no way to live. The big book will change your life if you follow the directions in it.

I agree. My therapist advised I take a year... One month for each step. I realize I can't make amends with everyone. We must work thru the steps at our own pace. It may be fast for some, years for others. Nothing wrong with that.
