Welcome if you're going to count, count the days sober. They are much more rewarding. Get connected with a local group like AA. there are zoom meetings here. I also recommend getting educated on addiction. If your doc is alcohol start by reading Alcohol Explained by William Porter. It's easy to read and understand. There's a great group of people here willing to help. Don't hesitate to reach out anytime. Best of luck in your journey.

Unfortunately AA is what I've kept trying without it working. I am looking for a different way to seek help that isn't based solely on 12 steps

Welcome Iris! Glad you're here Girl!! The steps were pivotal for me! I tried a few times too before I stuck around and let ne tell you, I wouldn't be here today if I didn't come back!

Welcome to the community. No matter how many day ones you've had, it's only that day, one at a time, that matters. Focus on what we can do right now. This moment, today, to stay sober. The rest will come. Much love!

Working/living a program of any kind is not for people who need it.. it’s for people who WANT IT.
Wether it be a 12step fellowship or another form of fellowship surrender to win :trophy:
