Hello everyone. I'm currently doing recovery in a sober house situation. I'm a former alcoholic and drug addict. I've been clean for 4 years but I just decided to get extra help. I've be icolating myself and I was wondering how do you over come being able to keep and maintain a relationship/friendship being a recovering addict and alcoholic?

Best piece of advice is focusing on yourself and your sobriety. You can have stable, healthy, happy relationships if you aren’t sober. Focus on one thing at a time. Put your sobriety first. Hit meetings and build a sober network at meetings. You got this.
I was mainly focused on friendships. Relationships are definitely not a thing for me right now. Im just having issues with maintaining friendships in meetings and just in life in general. Thank you for the advice!

Maybe you have to look into yourself and discover what it is that's holding you back.
I'm naturally introverted and shy. Based on early experiences in my life I also have trust issues when meeting new people. I work on it, but it's still there.
