New to this app. I’ve been battling an alcohol addiction

New to this app. I’ve been battling an alcohol addiction for almost 5 years. Realized it was a problem about 3 years ago. Recently it’s gotten a lot worse and I’m ready to work hard to get better. Just finished day 2. I’ll be on here daily as I need to see that I’m not alone and find support in some way. Much love to everyone!

You are always welcome here and never alone. Your best to get connected in a community like AA or any other. Get educated by reading and listening to podcasts. Alcohol Explained by William Porter is a good book and Gillian Tietz's podcast and website Sober Powered are great choices but ny far not the only ones. Best of luck, reach out anytime.:pray::blush:

Have you given AA a chance? You can do that daily and find a lot of support. This app is nice, but there is an energy of connection you feel in the rooms.

First step is realizing and admitting you have a problem!! I've known for years I had a problem, and looking back now, I had one for longer than I even thought. I've now been sober for about 30 days or so. Annie grace's book has helped me, and I've read some or most of William porter and Jason Vale. Annie grace has youtube videos that help a lot too. These books change your perspective on alcohol and once your perspective is shifted, you can't unsee what you know. I go to Recovery Dharma meetings, they align more with my belief system and they have meditations!! Feel free to reach out, I could use some support sometimes too

Much love back, darlin'!!! And you are most definitely not alone in this. After having my act together for over a year, I find myself back in treatment now, after an overdose and an introduction to the joys of Narcan. Be getting my 30-day chip day after tomorrow. And I love the fact that there are people like you and I in a platform like this for us to connect on. One more slice of ooey-gooey goodness in my life!!! And I pray that it'll be the same in yours.
