Yea but today has been rough, found out the group I play cards with have decided not to invite me. Hurts but it’s my own fault, and don’t know how to talk to them about starting on my sobriety journey.
In early recovery some people we associate with don’t know what to do or say to us.. they feel as awkward as we do. It may be a blessing to not have been invited if they will be drinking or drugging while playing cards. It took me months before I get comfortable to join the guys to play cribbage. But as time goes on and you get more comfortable in your sobriety, talking to them about it will come naturally.
