New Year

This is the first time in 11 years that I am not hung over on New Years Day. This year, for the first time, I am admitting that I cannot drink without over consuming. It’s scary and sad but after all else has failed for the last 20 years, it’s time to try something different. Here’s to 2023.

It’s a great feeling right?! If you are not in a program of some kind I would recommend it. Sobriety is a we thing. The community helps keep us accountable and the added support is crucial. Congrats on the two days! That’s amazing.

Thank you. I definitely will. I am ready. That is what I have lacked. Always thinking I could do this on my own. I realize that in the hard times I need support or I will go back to my old ways.

Congratulations I’m bringing in the new year sober. Embrace the new year for your sobriety and make this the most exciting year of your life.

Thank you so much Kevin!!!

Nice job! For me, choosing sobriety even if simply to avoid hangovers is definitely worth it.

It’s a good feeling to wake up without regret and knowing what you did the night before.

Realizing there is a problem is an important first step. Welcome here. You might go to a few A.A. meetings and see if you identify with anyone there. All the best to you in the new year.
