Newly sober and starting the 75 hard challenge today!

Has anyone done this challenge?

The rules are for 75 days you stick to a diet, no alcohol, two 45 minute workouts per day ( one has to be outside), 10 pages reading, and 1 gallon of water.

I think it will be a great way to stay supported in early sobriety. It’s a mental toughness challenge helping create discipline. I’m excited to have the support of a few friends who are not sober but doing the challenge, so naturally they won’t be drinking

I was researching that challenge yesterday. Best of luck to you! It’s a beast, but when you make it through I’m sure there will be some huge changes. A good way to hold yourself accountable from the health side of things as well as daily, positive distractions. I think the reading part is specific as far as some sort of self help material which is significant in itself.

I've never heard of it. It sounds interesting. Do you pick your diet?

Congrats!!

Yes I’ve found that when focused on workout out and eating clean and having this goal I feel motivated and really good ( endorphins!) so I have not thought of drinking as much

You know, I think I’m game for this. Bre, how is it going for you? I’ve done all the Insanity and P90X stuff so 75 days seems doable but one of my 45 min workouts would be low impact stuff.

Hey! It’s going well I’m like day 25 it’s really helped create structure I’ve been lacking!! I’ve stuck with it. On the days I really haven’t wanted to do anything it’s at least gotten me out of the house and that helps turn around my mindset!

I have been doing one of my workouts as a walk or jog in the morning!! If I am super sore from the day before then it’s two walks in a day lol. I’m getting like 12k steps a day so can already see and feel a difference!

Good for you if you can do that in early recovery! I was gripping on for dear life and sanity in early recovery.
