No alcohol since 11/2020. No drugs 7/2020. Just made a decision and been doing it on my own. I don’t have cravings or think about using or drinking anymore. But I know if I were to pick up opiates that would lead me back to a dark place. Want to meet others who are sober and clean, I have cut everyone out of my life. Worried I won’t be accepted at a meeting since I don’t struggle everyday and did things a little differently.

Since I’ve been clean mostly struggling with mental health. I’ve had debilitating panic attacks and diagnosed with bipolar 2. I take medications for these diagnoses. Another reason I’m afraid I will not be accepted.

I also want to say I’m not opposed to working the steps. Just afraid to go to a meeting

That's awesome, keep it up. As far as attending a meeting, the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking & using. You'd be welcome with open arms.

Well, you’ll be welcome with open arms no matter what the struggle or no struggle. It’s all in your head you don’t be accepted. Glad you doing well. And the steps aren’t a requirement to hit meetings. Just a suggestion. Everything is a suggestion. Once you say you are a member, you get a gold card to meetings all over the world. Hi ho. Keep hanging in there.

Most of the people at meetings don’t struggle everyday. That’s kind of the idea. I’ve never seen anyone not accepted at a meeting.

Don’t worry about the acceptance. Everyone is always accepted that is why we are there. I did it like you in the beginning but have found strength in meetings and a great sense of belonging. I have found being in recovery is a new form of acceptance for a lot of things.

Try a zoom meeting . Sit in and listen. I don't do meetings every day but on the days I am having urges it really helps to listen to others that are going through similar things as you.

Fear is a sin. You got this. Don't cut everybody off, only those who are bringing you down. You gotta have balance in your situation, good friends come in handy when you need a hug and a ear to listen. You wouldn't want people to cut you off, it's a cold world out here when your alone. Those who are haters, you just pray for them, it will make you feel better. Be Grateful not Hateful towards those who are blind to your situation. Let's Goooo! #CleanTeam :man_dancing:

I would recommend an AA or HA meeting. I would also highly suggest a women’s only meeting at least in the beginning.

I’ve been doing a program called refuge recovery.. it’s based on Buddhist principles and practice.. I’d be more than happy to send you a link and go to zoom meeting with you. Every meeting has 20mins of meditation included
