Nobody tells you how mentally draining it is when sober you is trying to fix everything the addict you broke stay strong we got this

Indeed. It can be very daunting and overwhelming, especially in early recovery. The addict in me wanted to repair and get everything back immediately, that instant gratification. It doesn't work like that. It takes time and lots of hard work. I know personally, I wouldn't appreciate everything I have now if it was easy to obtain. The things and relationships that I wanted in early recovery aren't what I needed. When an old door closes, my higher power opens a new one. My life now, is completely different and vastly superior to anything that I had or could ever imagine.
Thankfully I have a recovery coach that keeps telling me itβs okay to feel my feelings and to be tired. And walks me through good and bad days. Strength to you! I totally understand!
