Not sure how to start

Experiencing withdrawals. About to lose my job. Ready to commit to sobriety but I'm not sure where to start.

Alcohol recovery is a legitimate reason to take a leave of absence, right? So I could save my job if I check myself into a treatment center?

Or would I be better off joining a local AA and saving my money by skipping the treatment center? Withdrawal symptoms were bad last night, but unless I relapse, they won't ever get that bad again.

Just looking for some guidance.

Contact HR and ask them if you covered by FMLA, there are criteria’s companies and you have to be eligible in order to get it. If so the start the process.

I used it but mine it was under as an emergency (different reason) not sure if the same process works for checking into a facility.

It does cover treatment. And detox. Insurance covers 100% of detox, and 2-4 weeks of treatment. Do it! Get the jumpstart that rehab provides, and use AA to maintain sobriety and grow with the 12 steps.

That’s awesome! I’m happy for that :relaxed: people don’t utilize FMLA enough.

You also have to tell your boss your taking leave you but don’t necessarily have to tell your boss what you’re leaving for, as FMLA is a protective condition. That’s your call
