Last night i had the toughest decision to make and im not sure i did the right thing. My coworker admitted he was using and was active withdraw / coming down. Sweats shakes etc, i told him he needs help and to get to the hospital but i had to also be professional and talk to my boss. He wasnt working to pace of my job. I told my boss this when he asked about him. I feel awful but im hoping he got help.

I get the mixed emotions. I would feel bad too. However, since it’s not me, I can remove myself and reply to you with some supportive words. You did the right thing. Enabling others because we feel bad about saying something is actually selfish, and it doesn’t allow the person to have the consequences that may lead to them realizing they have a problem. Sounds like you did it with care and concern. Telling him to get help was also good. It’s okay to feel uncomfortable about it. Feel it and then let it go. Let’s pray he gets help

So proud of you!! That took courage. Doing the right thing can be hard to do. This may have helped to save his life.

You are what we in the biz call a #$@&

You did the right thing.
