November?!?

I can't believe it is November already. Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. What is something you are thankful for this year?

Love gratitude! So grateful I’ve been able to spend time with my father who has been on hospice for 1 year and 1 month. The doctors gave him until last Thanksgiving to live and he’s still here physically. He has dementia, diabetes and non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, end stage liver disease. It’s been an extremely difficult year watching his health decline. He’s lost use of his legs, has lost a good portion of his mind, is unable to do anything for himself and requires care 24 hours. Changing dads diapers has probably been one of the worst things. I’m sure if he knew his daughter was changing his diaper he would be mortified. It’s just heartbreaking :broken_heart: He was a very prideful and modest man.
God gave me an opportunity to be present and available for my father and my mother. I moved into their home to help care for dad, while I work a full time job. I’ve been blessed to make a living amends to both my parents. I spent many years keeping them both in fear and worry as I was active in my addiction. Now I’m the only daughter of 4 who has been here helping and being of maximum service to them and God. I feel so thankful that I will have no regrets when my dad finally passes. If I wasnt clean/sober I would have missed this and would be carrying around all that guilt and shame.
This is just one of many things that I am grateful for.

The gift of sobriety.

I am thankful for not "needing or wanting" a drink.

I am thankful for opportunity! The opportunity to go to grad school, the opportunity for promotions, the opportunity to make enough money to do what I want, the opportunity to help others to achieve sobriety!
