Waking up sober! What another glorious day on the tracker! Waking up this morning well rested and reset ready for my 11 hour day at the BPPR! Working with 2 of my favorite KTs this morning! Grateful for this as the afternoon will be long being with the KT that is never happy and has a crappy attitude
towards all of life. All I can do is be me....lol .....positive. Perky. Grateful! Me!
Grateful for having had the opportunity to talk with my bestie last night on her way home from a big night at work
!
Reflecting this morning on the BIP group yesterday and recognizing what a good class it was. The topic was Substance Use and Relationships. So many of the men shared stories of how SU has impacted their being in the program to begin with and how SU has impacted relationships in general. Tough for the addict in precontemplation stage of change and easier for those of us who have surrendered to the addiction and are in the action or maintenence stage of change. Really good class....and then there is the one that kept me on zoom for 30 minutes explaining again as to how awesome he is and who he knows and the credentials he touts about....my only words:"Mr. R, I cannot help you. I only suggest you make the most of our time together for the next 25 weeks and allow me to report positive progress on your participation to your referring party." He finally said, "okay." No more words were had. Tough for him to hear, yet there is nothing I can do and apparently he meets the requirements governed by FL statute to be in this class or he would not have been recommended for it by my clinician.
Alot. To. Process. Grateful for how I allowed him to speak and even more grateful for my words to him as we just ended the conversation keeping true to my program and keeping in line with the FL state statutes that govern DV programs.
I am grateful this morning for knowing that my boss had a meeting with the clinician that told a client-parent,"I don't work with kids." Like lady, you are in community health not private practice! Fuming, I was. This parent is a friend of mine, a therapist herself, and her kiddo needs help! How do you even have the gumption to tell ANYONE that?!?!! Luckily, it was dealt with and I di not even care if she thinks it came from me bc she is also the one in the hallways fussing about the new walkin policy.....we served 9 people NEW to services and that is huge for community health! I am grateful these antics were handled by the manager and our director
!
Grateful this morning! Sober and strong, today!
