Purley Baker was the head of the anti-saloon league around the turn of the 20th century in Ohio.
August West is the narrator of the song Wharf Rat by the Grateful Dead which is a song about alcoholism.
Ebby Thatcher was Bill W’s sponsor in AA in the very beginning. Ebby is also buried in the same cemetery as my mom. He did not maintain sobriety sadly.
