On July 10th, I celebrated 7 years of Sobriety

On July 10th, I celebrated 7 years of Sobriety. Things I prayed about years ago are finally happening in my life. I had the best weekend with my kids, just the 3 of us. 7 years ago, that was only a dream. But that's where it all started. A dream that seemed so out of reach turned into a call to help from strangers and prayers to God, eventually. It's not been easy though. I hear stories all the time that it gets worse before it gets better, which considering where I felt I was at in life, getting worse seemed impossible. If I wanted to make an excuse for myself, then between year 6 and 7 could've been all I needed to just have one drink. This past year was ROUGH for me and everyone I encountered probably noticed it in one way or another. Whether we talked about kids, past relationships, future relationships, family, my job, moving to a new part of the country, or everything else that was part of life, the conversations were deep and so many questions were brought up. I'm so thankful for all the people I met in the past year. They helped me get to today when I was struggling, probably more than anyone else.

I haven't used this app for several months but for whatever reason, I decided to log in today. I'm glad I did.
