On melatoninšŸ’¤ā€¦

:new_moon_with_face::owl: It initially puts you to sleep, but doesnā€™t keep you asleep. It also gives you strange dreams at times. So you find yourself up at 3:45am processing a bizarre quasi apocalyptic dream. It feels counterproductiveā€¦speaking from personal experience only.

I've had this same reaction to melatonin

It doesnā€™t work very well for me either. It takes over an hour to finally work & then doesnā€™t keep me asleep

Just doesnā€™t work on me at all. :woman_shrugging:t3:

I fall asleep fast, which is nice. The dreams - not so nice. Iā€™m going to try a different avenue.

The nightmares are unbearable lol. I stick with magnesium and tryptophan (itā€™s found in :turkey: and can be bought on Amazon)

Interesting. I might look into that - thanks for sharing!

CBN is great! Helps you stay asleep and doesnā€™t disturb REM sleep.

What's the alternative? I take 20 mg a nite. Better than trazadone. They make extended release melatonin too

Yes melatonin only last maybe 1 to 1 1/2 hours for me. My medication doctor put me on Zaleplon and it works so much better. Nothing worse than no sleep. I went months with very little or no sleep. If you can get yourself a good addiction medication doctor they usually can figure out what works.

Me too! I donā€™t like it. I use GABA if I need some help getting some  or magnesium

I would love to know what others have done to help with sleeping, for me it has been one of the hardest parts of my recovery. I am coming up on 900 days and still can't sleep right. I tried melatonin but that didn't help, I take a prescription medication but it doesn't always work. Would love to hear some thoughts.

Hi David. Do you have a recovery medication doctor? Or even a psychiatrist that can prescribe meds? I know that for me I tried many but finally my med doctor gave me Zaleplon 10mg for sleep. It works incredibly well. Just a suggestion because all doctors are different. I went a long time with no sleep but now I get a good 6 hours or more. Good luck
