On Sunday my husband was told he may have advanced cancer. I relapsed and drank for 2 days straight. I’m going to start all over but I didn’t know another way to deal and I don’t have support.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to support him in anyway if you become a drunken mess.

I'm sorry to hear about that, very heavy.

I agree. I’m human and I recognized that I have to strong and able. I just self medicated because I lost my marbles. Thanks

Understandable. Please don't think I was being judgemental. I can't tell anyone how to handle news like that. I was just reminding you of stuff you already know.

Ok.

In my experience, the goal of recovery is to get to a place where you don't have to or even think about drinking over anything. Heartbreak, illness, financial insecurity, even death. These are all things we have to learn how to deal with sober because in life they are inevitable. If you do the work you can be of service to other people. Get to some meetings and my thoughts are with your family

Thank you

My husband has cancer too (his second time and odds aren’t good) I drank before I realized I needed help during that time of finding out too. My inbox is open if you need someone to talk to

Thank you ! I would appreciate all the support please :two_hearts:

Your sobriety gets tested most when things aren’t good. I’m sorry to hear your news. Stay sober no matter what

Praying for you and your family health and happiness :heartpulse:

Jennifer, cancer is the worst word in the English language. Stay strong and reach out to this group. The support is there.
